About the Program
The JVS Integrated Employment Services (IES), funded by MLITSD and managed by WCG, provides employment services to unemployed individuals of all ages, financial backgrounds and skills to help them gain and retain employment within their field or a related field. To achieve its goal, the program provides a range of services including one-on-one employment counselling, employment workshops, job development/placement services and job retention supports. In addition, IES collaborates with other programs to ensure efficient and smooth operations through streamlining client referrals to appropriate services. Our Workforce Specialist (WFS) team is dedicated to developing relationships with employers to secure job opportunities.
EMET Employment is an online job board funded by United Jewish Appeal and is dedicated to helping individuals find employment opportunities and improve their career prospects. EMET Employment provide a range of services to support job seekers, including job search assistance, resume and cover letter writing workshops, interview preparation, and access to training and skills development programs. EMET Employment aims to connect individuals with resources and support that can help them achieve their career goals.
As a Workforce Specialist you will:
• Lead employer engagement and business development, with a focus on the Jewish community, to generate employment opportunities and build long-term partnerships.
• Conduct outreach to employers, community organizations, and industry partners to expand referral networks and increase program visibility.
• Assess clients' employment readiness and match qualified candidates to suitable job opportunities, including subsidized placements.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers to support recruitment, hiring, and successful client placements.
• Collaborate with UJA to deliver targeted job fairs, employer events, and funder-driven initiatives.
• Negotiate employer training incentives and complete all required agreements and documentation.
• Monitor placements and provide ongoing support to employers and clients to achieve retention targets.
• Utilize EMET Employment candidate matching system and JVS Toronto’s/Government’s CRMs (CaMS/FFAI) to identify candidates, maintain accurate records, and report outcomes.
• Monitor labour market trends and develop employment opportunities that align with client and employer needs.
• Liaise with third-party technical providers on recruitment system enhancements and provide support to additional Jewish community initiatives, as required.
• Take active role in organizing job fairs and hiring events, conducting outreach to employers, business development and engaging in related initiatives
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• College Diploma in Marketing, Business, Social Science, or related
• 1-2 years of job development, employment outreach, and/or marketing experience
• Effective time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a steady increase in targets for all stakeholder groups
• Demonstrates knowledge of the Jewish Community, culture, and traditions as well as recognizing potential needs for job accommodations
• Possesses existing connections with and understanding of the Jewish employers and their companies’ requirements (including Orthodox community)
• Proven expertise in operating various computer systems and liaising with third-party IT service providers for troubleshooting and system improvements
• Strong understanding and skills in utilizing social media channels for outreach and business development
• Fluency in Hebrew
• A clear Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check is required for this position
