Position Overview
This temporary project is funded by the Jewish community with exclusive focus on newcomers from Israel that enter Canada on a permit of Crisis in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza strip, special/temporary measures. The project is intended to help these individuals find employment opportunities and will provides a range of services focused on labour market access including overview of labour market trends, resume and cover letter writing assistance, interview preparation, and access to training and skills development programs. This temporary project aims to connect individuals with resources and supports that help them obtain employment.
We’re looking for someone who will:
• Possesses strong knowledge of matching processes and is proficient in candidates/jobs matching database utilization
• Skillfully conduct effective and efficient search through complex and sophisticated recruitment system with over 5,000 potential candidates
• Meet client job placement and retention targets
• Assess client job placement readiness; negotiate employment opportunities that meet both client and employer needs
• Conducts business development activities and sourcing job prospects within the Jewish community employers that are prepared to hire newcomers from Israel
• Maintain detailed employer and client records; enter all required information into database system; ongoing updates and reporting of outcomes to project team
• Continually monitor labour-market trends, provide advice, guidance and overview to clients and help to make informed decisions based on the labour-market situation
• Provide resume and cover letter assistance, helping Israeli newcomers create professional and impactful job application materials.
• Conduct interview preparation, based on employer needs, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to excel in job interviews.
Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• College Diploma in Marketing, Business, Social Science, or related
• 1-2 years of job development, employment outreach, and/or marketing experience
• Effective time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a steady increase in targets for all stakeholder groups
• Demonstrates knowledge of the Jewish Community, culture, and traditions as well as recognizing potential needs for job accommodations
• Possesses existing connections with and understanding of the Jewish employers and their companies’ requirements (including Orthodox community)
• Proven expertise in operating various computer systems and liaising with third-party IT service providers for troubleshooting and system improvements
• Strong understanding and skills in utilizing social media channels for outreach and business development
• Fluency in Hebrew
